I encourage all Unifor Local 88 members to provide support to our Sisters and Brothers of Unifor Local 27 on strike at Gentek. See message below from Unifor London Regional Office

SENT ON BEHALF OF UNIFOR LONDON AREA DIRECTOR JULIE HERRON:

Hi Everyone,

Please be advised that one of Local 27’s units Gentek is out on strike. This Employer has been very aggressive at the bargaining table with major concessions including our members seniority rights during layoffs, scheduling, union time etc.

Last Friday, the Employer tabled some money but no changes to language, which is totally unacceptable to the membership. The need for language changes is much needed in this facility. The Employer has indicated that they will be asking the Labour Board for a supervised vote.

Anyone who can stop by and give these members our support will be very much appreciated. Please share this email widely amongst fellow union activists and allies in the London area.

The address is 6320 Colonel Talbot Road, London (Lambeth), ON.
