  Just a reminder that over the Summer Shutdown the production schedule freezes at CAMI. B Shift is on Day shift the week before shutdown and returns on Days for a week after. Thanks.

Dance With Pride

Union Hall Addition Progress. Follow along!

  Union hall construction/addition has begun We will be sharing the progress through different ways. Look for us “Unifor 88” on Instagram as well as on Flickr. You can scroll through the progress photos that we have uploaded so far below. Also we have made a video of the house coming down, you can find that on our YouTube page or below.

Unifor Scholarships Deadline Extended.

    On June 12, 2019, we shall be holding our annual Retiree BBQ. If you are planning on attending, you must notify us, and submit a cheque in the amount of $25 per person. Your name MUST be submitted by May 17, 2019, in order for us to get the correct number of steaks, baked potatoes, etc. Make the cheque payable to Local 88.  Your cheque should show that it is for the BBQ !! At the BBQ on June 12th, you may then pick up your cheque from Chuck Smith. If you do not show up, your cheque WILL be deposited to offset the cost. As with all events with retirees, spouses are encouraged to come out as well. Hope to see you there. In solidarity Brian Ginty

Mental Health Q&A Podcast. Submit your questions.

  For the Mental Health Podcast, we are looking for more of the same as the previous ones. Membership Input. If you have any questions regarding mental health or the services and benefits Unifor, GM or the province provides. We will have Jeff Ramackers (EFAP Rep) and Alex Fitzgerald (HR/Women’s Advocate Rep) on to answer them as part of the episode. Both reps are also part of the Joint mental health committee as bargained in our collective agreement with GM. They are also happy to answer any questions about their specific roles and responsibilities. The questions will be and remain anonymous. Thanks to the membership for listening and providing your input.

  MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH. To raise awareness and help lend our hand in the journey to break the stigma of mental health issues.
