  • To:  NEB, All Unifor Members, Local Union Presidents, Recording Secretaries and Staff Unifor is pairing up with the Moose Hide Campaign to promote the national Moose Hide Campaign Day. Moose Hide Campaign Day is a day of ceremony. It’s a day where all Canadians are called to join together to take a stand against violence towards women and children and to take practical steps for our collective journey of reconciliation. Unifor has invited representatives from the Moose Hide Campaign to come talk about the initiative, and encourage Unifor members to support the campaign. Register online for the Monday, May 9 webinar.   •  The Spring P.E.L. and H.S.F. programs will be held at the Unifor Family Education Centre in Port Elgin from April 3 thru June 30, 2022. Applications forms for these courses are available at the local 88 Union Hall office, Inplant office (floor rep) or online at (see below). All one-week applications and the student application form (personal and payroll information) must be completed in full and attached to be processed, applications without will be withdrawn. Note:    ALL participants must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination. Masks must be worn at all times except when seated in the cafeteria and bar and when speaking in the classroom. (Subject to Public Health guidelines) Due to COVID-19 safety protocols the Unifor Family Education Centre in Port Elgin is not offering childcare at this time.   • The spring PEL and HSF programs will be held at the Unifor Family Education Centre in Port Elgin from February 23 to August 14, 2020. Applications forms for these courses may be obtained at the local 88 Union Hall office, inplant office or at, all applications most have completed expense form attached to be processed.   •   Unifor Members! Here are the winter classes for the Unifor-McMaster Labour Studies Certificate Program. We have an exciting 4 class course called, “Understanding Mexico: The Struggle for Social Change”. Learning about the struggles of the manufacturing workers of Mexico couldn’t be more relevant than right now. All courses listed are free to Unifor Members / Retirees. Please let us know if you would like to attend any or all of them.
