On March 26, 2025, Brent Tree and Mike Van Boekel, along with Unifor 88/GM-sponsored employee Juli Franklin, attended the 60th anniversary community celebration hosted by the United Way. This event is held annually to recognize the contributions received by the United Way through workplace donations and community support. Along with a touching speech from Juli, Local 88 was also the recipient of the ‘Joint Management & Labour Award.’ This award is in recognition of the membership of Unifor Local 88’s continued support for the United Way and the programs and services it provides to our communities. In 2024 United Way was able to raise $1,301,252 (1.3M) Which is a record breaking amount! Thank you, to our membership for your commitment and continued support.
