Action Centre Update

Hello Members,

We have just been informed that if you have applied — or plan to apply — for the Quality Assurance and Management Certificate+ through St. Clair College, you will become ineligible for Better Jobs Ontario funding for two years.

Please keep this in mind when considering the St. Clair College Grant Opportunity, and reach out to the Action Centre if you have any questions.

Please see below for more details.

Per the BJO Guidelines, Individuals who completed a skills training program in the last two years (24 months) through Ontario government funding are not eligible for the BJO program (including but not limited to SkillsAdvance Ontario (SAO), Better Jobs Ontario, Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), Skills Development Fund (SDF)). This includes funding received directly or indirectly through service providers.  However, there are some exceptions to this rule as outlined in the BJO guidelines.

Therefore, while the below notes that those that participated and completed BJO funded training may be eligible for SDF, if the other way around, and the individual completed SDF training in the last 2 years and now wants to participate in BJO they would be ineligible.

Therefore, if the individual did SDF training this September, they wouldn’t be eligible for BJO training for two years.  If they completed their BJO training they may be eligible for SDF training if there is no duplication.
