Tentative agreements between Unifor and General Motors unanimously endorsed by local leadership

Unifor local leadership unanimously endorsed the tentative agreements reached between the union and General Motors, following a presentation on the deal at a meeting in downtown Toronto today.

The tentative agreements cover Unifor members at GM facilities in Oshawa, St. Catharines and Woodstock, Ontario (the “Master” agreement), in addition to Unifor members at the GM assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ontario (the “CAMI” agreement).

The full Master Bargaining Committee, along with National and local leadership, are united in recommending that members vote in favour of ratification.

Members at GM locals will receive full briefings on the tentative agreements at meetings taking place Saturday August 29 and Sunday August 30. Vote results will be released following the final vote tabulation.
