We were told that there would be an update on our Battery production this week. That is not going to happen. No news may be good news. If we don’t hear anything then we can assume Battery production is good to proceed. However, GM have told us they are still reviewing all options and need a bit more time to finalize plans.
We will see what the next week or two brings.
Currently we had 70 members sign up for the exit packages with the deadline remaining as 4pm today, Friday, August 22. The original 30 members from last fall are included in the 70, and those 30 were still on the active seniority list.
In very good news, we sold 1200 Brightdrops in July. Volume is our friend and hopefully sales continue to increase.
There are no benefit rep at the hall or in the plant next week, Unifor Canada Council is on next week in Vancouver.
Ryan Roberts will be at the Union Hall covering for benefits if anyone needs any paperwork or has any requests. Ryan will be in contact with the benefit reps as needed.
