The company switched everyone back to active status over the holiday period to pay holiday pay. Those who are back on layoff January 6th, 2025 (B-shift) and on an EI denial letter, will have to reapply for EI benefits with a last day worked of January 3, 2025. Those on active EI claims can just follow their normal reporting schedule.

Reporting for the week of Dec 29th, 2024 to January 4th, 2025: Please be aware that this week is slightly different than last week. There are 3 days holiday pay and 2 SWW days that you can report as 40 hours of earnings. How to calculate for EI purposes:

PA: $42.42 x 24 = $1018.08, ($42.42 x 16) x .80(sww) = $542.98 – total pay – $1561.06

PSG: $42.72 x 24 = $1025.28, ($42.72 x 16) x .80(sww) = $546.82 – total pay – $1572.10

TL: $43.42 x 24 = $1042.08, ($43.42 x 16) x .80(sww) = $555.78 – total pay – $1597.86

Some members will see a grievance adjustment payout on their pay next week January 9th, 2025. This payment belongs to the week of December 29th, 2024 to January 4th, 2025 and needs to be reported for this week. When doing your report, please enter 40 hours worked along with your gross payment for the week including the grievance adjustment payment. For anyone who has already reported today, you will have to wait until you see your paystub and reach out to one of us Benefits Representatives and we will adjust the payment amount with Service Canada for you. The ones who are reporting next week, should already see the amount on your paystub and should be okay to report that amount.

From us in the Benefits Office, we hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas break and a Happy New Years!
