Good morning Local 88!

We hope you all had a great Labour Day weekend.

At approximately midnight tonight, you should receive your new login credentials by email for voting in our triennial elections. If you voted the first time around you will need to vote again as all previous votes were deleted and purged.

The Elections Committee has spent a significant amount of time working with Simply Voting to ensure minimal disruptions this time around.

The errors in the first election were tied to the way Simply Voting grouped our members.

When they removed the acclaimed reps in some cases their program ended up removing the other candidate(s) in that zone as well.

Once the election was halted, Simply Voting locked the election and deleted all submitted ballots.

We have worked with them to test over 80 different voting scenarios to ensure the groupings are correct. However, we are relying on information supplied by GM Cami as to what areas all of you work in so it is possible there may be some hiccups.

In the event that you run into voting issues please close your ballot and call Elections Help at (519) 425-0952 ext. 104 between 8am and 4pm on Thursday, September 9th. Should you have issues and contact elections for help, please allow Simply Voting time to update the information as they do it in batches throughout the day.

You can also email at any time during the 48 hours of voting.

Remember to check your Spam/Trash folders for your Simply Voting link and credentials.

Voting online will last for 48 hours from midnight Thursday September 9th until 11:59pm Friday, September 10th.  We will be able to correct any issues that may arise.

Remember, some positions have already been acclaimed so those positions will not be listed.

Please refer to the nominations page on at

The Elections Committee appreciates your patience and support. As members first, election integrity is something we take very seriously

Results will be posted on the Unifor 88 website the morning of Sat Sept 11th, 2021.

Good luck to all the candidates!

In Solidarity,

Bruce Bennett,
Elections Committee Chair
