Trades and Production Retirement Packages – Important Information
We have signed off on the agreement for trades to be included in the current retirement packages that are being offered.
Important Note: GM will not offer Letter 14, as they state they will retain all trades in the main plant if needed. However, GM has agreed to allow trades to participate in these packages.
Package Details

Payout: $60,000

Car Voucher: $20,000

Deadline to Register: 4 p.m., Friday, September 19

Note: These packages are irrevocable once the deadline has passed.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible employees include those who:
Are in the DB pension

Have 30 years of service, or
-
Are 60 years old with 10 years of service, or
-
Have 85 points, or
-
Are age 65
Trades Retirement Rules
Trades employees must:

Retire by January 1
-
If you hit 30 years on November 10, you must sign up by September 19, but retirement will be December 1

Retire on the 1st of the month following eligibility, up to January 1, 2026

Production Retirement Rules
Production employees can:

Sign up to retire until September 19 at 4 p.m.

Follow the same rules as the program that ended two weeks ago

Obtain sign-up forms from any of the three benefit reps

Quitting Options

Tradesperson with less than 12 years seniority: One-time $40,000 payout (same as production members)

Tradesperson with more than 12 years seniority: Package available to quit (related to the difference between DC and DB pensions)
