I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful summerlike weather. Wasn’t that long ago we were knee deep in back2back2back snowstorms. 3 Fridays in a row. It was truly a blessing that I was away for 2 of those Fridays.
The Local 88 Retirees’/Spouses annual steak BBQ is Wednesday June 14th. The cost is $10.00 pp which is refunded at the BBQ when you arrive. Our meeting will begin at 12 noon sharp and the BBQ will be served immediately afterwards. The meal consists of a steak, baked potato, and a couple of salads. Pop and water are supplied and the bar will be open for other beverages. Only cash is accepted at the bar for payment.
This event is limited to the first 140 paid members/spouses. This event sold out last year. Unfortunately we just can’t go larger and still make it a comfortable event for those in attendance. Purchase your BBQ tickets early, by either paying Linda Leyten in the office Monday-Friday, regular working hours or by etransfer to admin@unifor88.ca. In the message section please note that your payment is for “Retiree BBQ”.
The deadline for this is 140 paid members or May 12th at the end of business.
We have a 50/25/25 draw that has been building at our regular meetings. The pot currently sits at $285.00. Tickets will be available and draw will take place at the BBQ.
