What better day to stand together than May Day — International Workers’ Day!

May 1st is recognized around the world as International Workers’ Day, a day rooted in the long and proud history of the labour movement.
Here in Canada, that history runs deep. From the fight for the 9-hour workday in Hamilton in 1872, which helped spark the first major labour protests in this country, to the hard-won victories for the 8-hour workday, weekends, workplace safety standards, and the right to organize, Canadian workers have always had to fight for what they deserve.
Those fights were won by union members just like us.

Today, our struggle continues. With growing uncertainty in the auto industry, trade pressures, and a changing economy, the work of unions like Unifor is more important than ever.

This May Day, we’re marking the occasion by coming together to talk about something that hits close to home: the current state of the GM Cami Assembly Plant.
Join Local 88 Leadership, National Representatives, and Unifor National President Lana Payne for a town hall where your questions matter, and your voice will be heard.

Our strength has always come from solidarity, on the shop floor, at the bargaining table, and in the community.

May Day is a reminder of that.

All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
