Tonight, President Trump announced a 25 percent tariff on all autos coming into the U.S. starting April 2. The President seems confused about the trade agreements that both our countries have benefitted from for years. As we have stated before, these jobs are OUR jobs. We will not give them up without defending them. Over the coming days, I’m sure we will learn more details about how this will impact our plant directly, and we will share that information with the membership. As our jobs are attacked, it’s important that we remain united and ready to stand up for them. This will take all of us. – Mike Van Boekel, Unifor Chairperson CAMI Assembly and Battery Plant.
