Today all General Motors members in North America will be observing 8 minutes and 46 seconds of silence as a sign of solidarity with the black community and our continued support of the struggle against racial injustice. The time represents the length of time George Floyd lay prone on the ground with a knee on his neck before he died. Many of us have experienced some type of racism, discrimination, inequality, intolerance and injustice over the years, at home, school or the workplace together we must fight and speak up to put a end to it. Please read attached letter from Mark Reuss President of General Motors that details the Global Workforce Moment of Silence.
