EI Clawback, Packages, Credited Service, Vacation Payouts & more – June 09 2025

Today we hosted a meeting with the heads of GM Canada and heads of Unifor. We have quite a few issues that we have been working on and we were able to make some headway today, although not in all areas.

EI Clawback
The EI clawback has been resolved. Instructions will be posted this week on the company Facebook site, and we will repost them on this website as well. You will be required to submit forms via Workday in order for them to be verified by the company. Anyone who cannot get their Workday to function will likely need to go to the Union Hall and meet with the Union benefit reps.

Packages
There was a long talk by the parties on the retirement and VTEP’s packages. Headway was made but we do not have a final agreement at this time. We are waiting on costing by GM and then a response from them later this week or early next week.

Credited Service
This issue has been going on since January. A big discussion occurred this morning regarding credited service. The National has come up with different possible resolves. We are now waiting for some responses from the company. This is a very heated issue that stems from bargaining and the company refusing to acknowledge the full credited service time.

Vacation Payouts
ER is waiting on a response from Payroll. We have a list of over 60 members who have contacted us regarding the payout amounts, we have asked the company to double check everyone’s payout to see if others are missing from this list.

COLA
The COLA was adjusted on Monday, June 2.  COLA went up .48 cents and now sits at .48 cents (it had been reduced to 0 prior to June).
