Unifor National has work available for 12 of our laid off members.
You can be part of the 79 laid off, OR from the Battery Department and currently laid off.
They have openings for 5 days (full week) or 14 days (2 weeks), you can choose.
You will be working in Kanata – near Ottawa. Strike picket duty.
You will be paid 40 hours a week at your current wages.
You will get mileage to drive there and back, however they would like you to car-pool and not pay 12 different drivers.
You will get $90 a day per diem.
You will also be provided 3 meals a day.
Your hotel rooms will also be paid for.
The work would start Monday, February 24, and they would like you to report for Sunday night, February 23.
This will be done on a first to sign up basis.
