Dear Members,

We have been made aware of fraudulent emails being sent under the name “Unifor Local 88.” These emails are not legitimate and should be deleted immediately. Please do not open them, click on any links, or respond. We do not have email mailing lists even set up for mass communication purposes.

If you have received one of these emails, we kindly ask that you let us know by reaching out to keithackworth@unifor88.ca. Please don’t forward the email.

Thank you for your attention to this matter and for helping keep our union members safe from scams.

How to recognize a phishing email 

  • The email looks urgent or too good to be true
  • The email contains spelling mistakes
  • The email requests private information
  • The email asks you to click a link or download an attachment
How to respond to a phishing email 

  • Don’t open the email
  • Don’t click any links in the email
  • Don’t download any attachments in the email
  • Don’t reply to the sender
  • Delete the email
