We have noticed an issue with the current vacation year. We have lots of members who do not have the paid vacation entitlement they have booked time off for.
Due to the rotating layoffs most members will not hit their paid vacation entitlement maximum – yet many have booked vacation time off THAT WILL NOT BE PAID.
You are entitled to this time off if you would like – but we don’t want people sitting home on vacation thinking they are getting paid and find out they get $0 paid for their week off.
All the inplant reps are back in this week and we will be trying to phone every member at home who has booked unpaid time off. You are still entitled to the time off or you can cancel it – we just want to make sure you understand it may be unpaid.
