Some Bunny Wanted!

  Well folks, it’s that time of year again and Community Service Committee is looking for a young male/female to play the part as the EASTER BUNNY!!! If your child is a young adolescent, that’s outgoing, fun, entertaining, and gets along with small children please PM me (Dave Simmons). Maybe your child needs some High School credits, or is just all around happy to entertain youngsters! United Way Reveal.

      On December 14th, GM CAMI Assembly and UNIFOR Local 88 employees shared some #locallove in celebrating another successful United Way Campaign. While these ‘Every Day Heroes’ don’t always wear capes, they do make the world a better place when they all band together. Committed to supporting local community initiatives and providing opportunities for a brighter future, today they revealed a campaign total of $482 071 to be shared between @unitedwayoxford and @unitedwayemca Thanks to everyone for their support!!

  To all Local 88 Members Mike Van Boekel’s family entered a contest and have been informed they are currently in 2nd place out of 4. The top 2 video’s getting the most votes will each win $50 000. Please take the time to vote EVERYDAY with any devices you have and pleaes vote EVERYDAY until DEC 10!!! Help the Van Boekel’s win $50 000 for their community, please take the time and vote.   Local 88 donates 100 meals to the Men’s Mission four times a year. This is where some of our money goes. It helps.

ITOPA Presents Heidi-Sponsored by Unifor 88 & 2163

Strike Memories Anniversary Sept 17, 2018

Whether you want to remember the highly stressful times of a year ago or would rather forget, September 17, 2017 changed everything for Unifor Local 88. For the second time in our history, and exactly 25 years later, we went out on strike. Stress was incredibly high but we banded together to keep each other afloat emotionally. We held the lines and coordinated office duties, finance duties, communications, rallies, and an incredible amount of logistics for 29 days. Solidarity was the biggest key to morale during our time on the line. BBQs, karaoke, ring toss, hockey games, rallies, and support from our community hit all time highs to keep us going. Helping In Our Community

  Ever wondered how Local 88 helps in the local community? Organizing community events  the upcoming Ingersoll Municipal All candidates debates and Labour Day BBQ. Donating the use of our union hall for local community organizations to hold their events, like the Canadian Blood Services donor drives. Our members also donate personal time to community causes such as Stephenson kids camp bathroom renovations. Also as a Local we donate monetarily to surrounding communities.
